Shohola Township Volunteer Fire and Rescue (STVFR) has served the Shohola community protecting life and property since 1922. The department, entirely volunteer based and dispatched only by Pike county 911 center, operates to provide highly trained volunteer fire and rescue personnel throughout Pike County, Pennsylvania and beyond, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

In addition to the traditional roles of fighting fires and providing emergency medical assistance, our personnel are trained for and respond to a vast variety of emergencies, such as accident victim extrication, high angle rescue, mountain rescue, ground search and hazardous material calls.

We offer fire safety seminars and participate in many events to demonstrate and educate the community about fire prevention.
